HiTZ CitiPower Centre will temporarily close due to Australian Formula 1® Grand Prix operational requirements within Cricket Victoria’s Indoor Centre.
The temporary closure will be in place from Friday 27th February until 5pm on Tuesday 10th March.
HiTZ CitiPower Centre will re-open from 5pm on Tuesday 10th March, however between this time up until Sunday 15th March, there will be no parking access for customers within Cricket Victoria’s carparks or along Lakeside Drive due to the road closures in place. It will be recommended that customers either take public transport or if driving, park along Fitzroy Street and walk down to the CitiPower Centre.
Please note - due to road closures, parking access will also not be available between Monday 23rd February to Thursday 26th February.
Regular operations, including on-site car park access and nearby Lakeside Drive parking will then resume in full from Monday 16th March.
We understand this temporary closure may be disruptive and appreciate your patience during this period.
While no refunds will be issued, we’re supporting our HiTZ CitiPower Centre community with the following measures:
All existing "Play Passes" will also be carried into next month, plus all credits and extensions will be automatically applied - no action is required.
Together with Cricket Victoria, we apologise for the disruption and the effect it will have on all the community who have enjoyed HiTZ so far, since our opening back in January.
We thank you for your understanding and patience, should you have any questions, please consult our FAQ below, or contact us on ausupport@hitzcricket.com
FAQs
Why does HiTZ CitiPower Centre have to close?
The event organisers behind the F1 Grand Prix - the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) – utilises various parts of Cricket Victoria’s building to deliver their requirements across the Grand Prix period, and has done so historically.
AGPC have also recently received legislative approval to extend their occupation period of Albert Park more broadly. This occupation period now ranges from Monday 23rd February up until Sunday 15th March. This allows AGPC to maintain their road closures for this period, protecting the general public from accessing the park and allowing them to safely complete essential works in the lead-up to, and following the Grand Prix.
Will I receive a refund for the closure period?
No refunds will be issued for this closure period.
What support is available for members?
All existing HiTZ CitiPower Centre members will automatically receive: two (2) FREE months added to their current membership.
In addition, all existing HiTZ Australia two (2) x 1-hour Peak sessions, credited as Virtual Credits to the value of $150 AUD.
All existing "Play Passes" will also be carried into next month.
Do I need to do anything to receive these credits?
No. All credits and extensions will be automatically applied to your PodPlay account.
What happens to existing bookings?
Bookings scheduled during the full closure period will be cancelled. Members will be supported via the above credits.
When is parking not available when HiTZ CitiPower Centre is open during this period.
Between February 23-26 and March 11-15.
Where can I park when you re-open if I can’t park on-site or on Lakeside Drive?
We recommend parking along Fitzroy St, which is then a short (less than five-minute) walk to CitiPower Centre. We also encourage you to take public transport if possible.
Rideshare services will need to complete their drop-off on Fitzroy Street at this time, due to road closures impacting the roads within Albert Park.
Will I be able to book when you re-open from 5pm on Tuesday 10th March?
Yes, bookings from 5pm-9pm on Tuesday 10th March will be open for reservation.
